Organic Ghee

Our ghee is handmade with loving intention.

Ghee has been considered in Ayurveda to be the most superior amongst fats and oils for thousands of years. It is an ideal cooking medium due to it's high smoke point preventing the breakdown of free radicals produced by many other oils. Ghee is also a rich source of vitamins A, E, K2, butyric acid, and CLA (Conjugated linoleic acid). Traditionally ghee has been considered to stimulate digestive functions, increase ojas (vital essence of tissues), nourish all seven tissues of the body, improve the lustre of skin, nourish the eyes, lubricate the joints and connective tissue and a tonic for the nervous system.⠀

Ghee, oil, muscle fat and bone marrow are the best unctuous substances of all. Amongst them, ghee is the unctuous substance par-excellence because of its power to assimilate effectively the properties of other substances. (Charaka Samhita, Sutrasthana 8:13)⠀

Ghee alleviates pitta and vata, it is conducive to rasadhatu (plasma tissue), shukradhatu (reproductive fluid) and ojas (essence of tissues). It has a cooling and softening effect on the body. It adds to the clarity of voice and complexion. (Charaka Samhita, Sutrasthana 8:14)⠀
